What is the minimum age?Our recommendation is 10, but it depends upon each participant.

What's the maximum number of students you take?Four. That number ensures each person gets the attention and time to practice necessary to build their skills and confidence.

What equipment should my boat have?You should have a properly registered and insured boat with all appropriate documentation aboard. Your vessel must also have all safety equipment in good and serviceable condition PRIOR to the class. These might include: Appropriate lifejackets for every person on board according to the boat's rating Appropriate number of fire extinguishers First Aid kit Sound and Visual distress signals Unfortunately the instructor cannot teach on an illegal, or unsafe vessel, and a refund cannot be issued. He will however, share what's needed, and reschedule if necessary.

What should I bring?Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, towel, and anything else you would usually take on your boat.

How long until a beginner is proficient in boating after taking classes with Boatmasters Training?Learning speeds vary. Our on-water training ensures beginners feel accomplished after each class. Master Captain Mark Knowles customizes instruction, and many students continue returning. Boating with us is adventurous and fun!
